Live global outlook

Will Codex reset today?

NO LIVE RESET SIGNAL

Probably not yet.

No direct future-reset signal is active and the near-term forecast remains low.

Best move right now Use your personal reset time rather than waiting for a global goodwill reset.

Why this answer 3 signals
  1. Recent cadence

Recent verified resets inform the statistical baseline.

  2. Verified event archive

Preview posts remain separate from confirmed broad resets.

  3. Visible freshness

The source and check time stay attached to the answer.

Broad goodwill resets are irregular. Plan around the percentage and timestamp in Codex /status; treat a global reset as a bonus.

Your personal reset timer

Optional. It uses the time you entered above and never becomes part of the global forecast.

When the timer reaches zero, verify the live percentage in Codex.

Global reset vs. your reset

Global / broad

A discretionary reset announcement

Applied by OpenAI to a broad group, often around a launch, incident, milestone, or promotion. It is irregular and should be treated as a bonus.

Tracked here from public evidence.

Personal / scheduled

Your own usage window

The timestamp and remaining percentage shown by Codex for your account. This is the reliable planning input for everyday work.

Visible only to you in Codex; saved here locally only when you enter it.

Banked / on demand

A granted reset you redeem

An eligible, time-limited reset held in your account. Presence and expiry must be verified inside Codex before redemption.

Never inferred from the global forecast.

Transparent by design

What the forecast can — and cannot — say

The live probabilities come from the public, verified event and forecast API maintained by codex-reset.com (opens in a new tab). This site validates and normalizes that evidence, applies a small, published verdict ladder, and keeps the action recommendation separate.

A direct future-reset post outranks the statistical model. A confirmed broad reset outranks a preview. Old or unavailable data is labelled stale instead of silently reused as live.

Concise answers

Questions people ask before they wait

Does this site know my real Codex quota?

No. It never reads your OpenAI account. Entering your percentage and reset time creates a local recommendation and timer in this browser only.

Does a high probability mean a reset will happen?

No. It is an evidence-weighted estimate. Only a verified confirmation can change the answer to “reset confirmed.”

Is a service outage the same as a reset signal?

No. Service health is shown separately. An incident can affect whether you should work now, but it does not guarantee compensation or a reset.

Should I redeem a banked reset because the odds are low?

Use your task urgency, remaining percentage, personal reset time, and the banked reset’s verified expiry. The global odds alone should not decide redemption.

Why can the timer reach zero before my account refreshes?

The timer stores the timestamp you entered; it cannot verify propagation. Always open Codex and check the displayed percentage when the window arrives.

How “Will Codex reset?” is answered

  1. Reset confirmedA verified, non-preview broad reset announced within the live confirmation window.
  2. Official signal activeA direct future-looking public reset signal or an unexpired preview window.
  3. Elevated watch24-hour forecast at or above 60%, without direct confirmation.
  4. Watch, not a promise24-hour forecast from 30% through 59%.
  5. No live reset signal24-hour forecast below 30%.
  6. Live data unavailableThe latest usable data is too old to support a current answer.

Data handling

The Cloudflare Worker requests forecast, timeline, and Codex service-state data in parallel, validates the payloads, caches them briefly at the edge, and falls back to a clearly timestamped bundled snapshot when the upstream cannot be reached.

Decision-tool boundary

The action recommendation is deterministic. It uses only the percentage, time, task size, urgency, and banked-reset information you enter. It does not estimate an exact number of messages or tokens.

Accuracy boundary

Resets are discretionary and irregular. Historical patterns can inform a forecast but cannot promise a future event. A preview can expire without confirmation, and an announcement can precede account propagation.

This site does not ask for an OpenAI login, API key, session cookie, or account identifier. The decision form runs in your browser. A reset time, banked-reset date, task choice, and theme may be stored in local browser storage so they survive a reload.

The Cloudflare-hosted site necessarily receives ordinary request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps for security, delivery, and operational logging. No advertising tracker or third-party analytics script is loaded by this release.

External source links take you to other services with their own privacy practices. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes the locally saved timer and form preferences.
